Mary and I photographed Lauren + Fran's wedding back in 2015 at the Saturn Club in Buffalo, NY. It was one of the first weddings we ever photographed and it was so beautiful. The people we met that day were so amazing and we are lucky to still call many of them friends. I remember that wedding was so much fun because Lauren and Fran, their families and every person at that wedding was so kind. They were also phenomenal dancers! Lauren and Fran are such a fun couple and so incredibly loved!!
Fast forward five years, a puppy and 2 babies later. I was so excited that it worked out to photograph Lauren and Fran's brand new baby girl when we were visiting Buffalo for a few weeks this summer. Behind the scenes, this session was a little crazy with 2 under two. We found humor in the chaos (and someone's ticklish spot) and this sweet family's laid back disposition is really what shined through in the photos.
I really love our trips back to Buffalo to visit family, but I also get to see so many friends and clients through this little photography gig. It is such an honor to document your sweet memories and to watch your beautiful families grow. Thank you for your continued support over all these years. Sharing in your lives is something I am truly so grateful to be a part of.
The sweetest new babe. Baby Sadie was almost 4 weeks old when we were finally able to do her newborn photos. A little music by Alan Jackson put her right to sleep as her mom and dad loved on her. She is so adored by her parents. This was just a really sweet session and I am so grateful I was able to share in this special time with this new family of three. Below are a few of my favorites from this in-home newborn session!
Newborns bring such light and joy and I think we can all use a little of that right now! This was my last session before social distancing was a thing. Alex and Steven are such natural parents. Steven had quickly mastered the swaddle and Alex knows exactly how to calm her sweet baby girl. They are such a great team already as they navigate parenthood together.
I don't know about you guys, but I feel like we need our team now more than ever. Each day, something new unfolds and often more uncertainty. We are confined to our homes, working and doing life closer than most of us ever have. It is crazy and chaotic here. Some days seem eternal. Others fly by and I am left wondering what we did all day. Through this experience, I have also recognized that I have slowed down. I don't have a list of places to get to and activities to get done or drive to. I have been more present and for that I am grateful. Tommy and I have started taking daily walks. It almost seems like going back in time when we walk around the neighborhood, seeing everyone out with cheerful smiles and hellos from a distance. We hang outside, as a family, when Mike is done working and the weather here has been amazing. The sun is usually dipping behind our neighbor's home and we listen to music, have a drink or swim as an evening breeze gently brings a close to the day. This situation is not ideal, I am as excited as anyone for things to go back to normal. But we are healthy and I will choose to take what I can from it and right now, that is spending more time with my little crew and listening to fart songs. Thanks Alexa.
This beautiful mama and her adorable baby girl were just so wonderful! Katie's home is absolutely gorgeous and her style really spoke to my bohemian, beach-loving heart! We were lucky to have her mother with us for the photos. She was a godsend, whipping out ALL the baby loving nursery rhymes! I wish you could have seen the three of us singing and dancing to make Blakely giggle. It was quite a sight! Some of my favorite photos actually occurred when baby girl was just done. She was so tired and just wanted to sleep. I had the opportunity to shoot through Katie slowly rocking her sweet daughter to sleep. This may not typically be something you would think of as photo worthy, but I know I wish I had some pretty photographs from when my children still needed that comfort to go to sleep. These times when they are so little are fleeting. I am truly so grateful for those quiet moments I was able to capture and I hope that you love them too!
Baby Camden surprised everyone when he arrived quite a bit early. Weighing in at just over 5lbs, it reminded me of how small my first baby was when he was born. We were terrified to put him in the carseat because the buckle was larger than his tiny face. His 8th birthday is quickly approaching and I find myself having a hard time believing it. It is almost painful to know that many years have already passed. He is also huge now! These babies of ours will surely grow, it seems to happen overnight. We spend these sleep deprived days staring at the tiny new human that fills us with such unfathomable love, hoping we are equipped to take care of this sweet little soul. Snuggle them in tightly, bask in that delightful newborn smell, and savor those little newborn noises. One day we wake up and realize they are not babies any longer.

The new baby that instantly creates a little family of your own. The first snowfall that beautifully covers everything in powdery white, shimmering in the sunlight. There is something so magical about the changing of seasons.
Meet Colin Patrick, 2 months new. He is the happiest little guy with the cutest head of hair! I love the little blond streak through it! He was completely content being outside during his first time seeing snow fall, wide-eyed and excited just staring up at his parents. Nostalgic for those days when it felt like hours flew by and all we did was stare at our new baby!

Days and nights blur together.
Kisses on squishy faces
That change almost daily.
Tiny backs filled with rolls of skin,
Folded up baby legs
Molded to your side
Clinging to you at all hours
Night and day.
Little fingers holding on tight
Gentle hum of the sound of their sleep
Sweet baby smell
One moment they look at you
Finally locking eyes
Through the fuzziness,
We try to remember it all.
Our babies will grow and change,
They all do.
But for now, we hold on tight
To these tiny little bodies
Fit perfectly into our hands.
Below are a few of my favorites from baby Owen's sweet session!
Then there were 3.
It's amazing how much can change in just one year. Last summer, I was photographing Caitlin and Mike at their wedding in downtown Buffalo. This year, I flew in from my new home of Orlando and, as luck would have it, was able to photograph them as a family with their new baby girl! I truly feel so grateful to be able to follow along on Caitlin and Mike's journey together and document these milestones as they happen. Little Miss Harper is simply adorable and I couldn't be happier for them!!
Jackie and Chuck are just the sweetest couple and make a great team. I really can't even imaging having twins. It's hard enough to manage one baby at a time! In the short period of time that I was able to spend with them, Jackie and Chuck looked like professionals managing the daily challenges of life with 2 new babies. A feeding and sleeping schedule with brand new, identical twins is no joke. It seems to require all hands on deck, all the time. I think even Lucy, the dog, was ready jump in and help. She was bound and determined to be in the family photos and even posed herself! We laughed about it, but she was really so cute and always checking in to see what was going on with the new babies. It truly must be an amazing experience to be able to watch the special relationship between twins grow. Maeve and Greta are two very beautiful baby girls. These little ladies are lucky to have such adoring parents, and each other!
I remember the days leading up to the birth of our second baby. The uncertainty. The guilt. Feeling like you are going to crush your first born's whole world. Bringing home your sweet baby, feeling so full of love, and wondering just how your toddler will react to this new little being who will take over their home. Then, something magical happens. Your toddler suddenly falls madly in love with their new sibling. They want to hold the baby, snuggle the baby, feed the baby. And so that sibling bond begins. This is something that moves me to the core. I love seeing it with my own children and I truly hope that they will always be close. I am so grateful that I was able to witness this bond with sweet Brennan and his new sister, Molly. Here are some of my favorites from Molly's in-home newborn session at just 5 days old. Big brother really loved her up!!
