Meet me at the end of the earth....

I was recently a part of a beautiful beach elopement styled shoot in Buffalo, NY.  The weather forecast showed the rain was supposed to hold out for us but as soon as everyone was finished setting up, tiny wet droplets began to fall from the sky. Most of this shoot was photographed in the rain! You can actually see how hard the rain was coming down in several of the photos. I am so happy we were still able got some gorgeous images of everyone's hard work.  And our models, they were truly amazing and totally unfazed by getting soaking wet. They were also willing to walk along rocks and through the water which was an absolute dream!

I am completely honored to have worked alongside such creative and talented vendors.

Thank you all for making this day happen!

Holiday Minis 2018

1/15/2019

Let the holiday cheer continue into mid January!! I know it's late, but I really wanted to share some of the photos from our holiday mini sessions in Buffalo, NY. There were just too many good ones to share individually, so I decided to make a blog post of a few of my favorites!

I hadn't anticipated that I would be able to do these sessions in WNY since we had moved to Orlando, but so many people reached out and I thought...maybe we CAN do this. Mary was open to the idea and Rebecca at quaint rentals was also on board. The last piece of the puzzle was a location, and that was really not decided until the 25th hour. I'm so lucky everyone was so relaxed about the details and trusted that we would find the right space. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law graciously let us use their beautiful back porch. It is covered and has a working fireplace, perfect for the less than ideal weather in November. There was a windy and slushy snow storm the day before, so we were lucky the area was a bit sheltered. Rebecca turned the space into a very inviting, winter wonderland! I'm so happy that it all worked out!

Mary and I loved seeing all of these families. It's amazing how quickly the kids grow and change over the course of a few months. We got to meet new babies, saw babies we photographed last year that are now walking, and conversed with kids we've known for years that seem so grown up and mature now. Sure, we worked through some tears and wiped a few cold weather boogies, but TimBits, cookies and hot chocolate seem to always work their magic! I also happen to think that those candids make for the best Christmas cards!!

Thank you so much, to everyone who reached out to me about doing holiday mini sessions again, you ultimately made this happen!! And, thank you to Mary, Rebecca, and the very generous Boryszak family, especially Rita who was sweeping, cleaning and continuously adding wood to the fire while we did our thing on her patio! Thank you!!

Dreamy Spring Wedding Inspiration

2/21/2018

I was fortunate enough to photograph a lovely styled shoot with Taylor'd Southern Events. I believe that inspiration comes with a story, so here is my take on this portion of the styled session...

Amidst the nerves and excitement of seeing your groom and jumping into your forever life, there is an important time just before. That time you spend getting ready for the biggest day of your life, with the most important people in your life. Those girls you grew up with, whose opinions you value, who tell you if you have something in your teeth and who love you as much as the person you are about to marry. This inspirational post focuses on this intimate and exciting period of time.

The girls are getting ready at Arundel Estate, a marvelous venue, just outside Orlando, with classic southern charm. Our bride is breathtaking. She has her best friends beside her and they are all having fun at this alluring Estate as she awaits meeting her groom on their wedding day.

Our bride’s dress is the palest shade of blush with intricate lace detail. It is beautifully paired with a two tier, mid length veil and sleek updo. The florals are both classic and vibrant with peonies, roses and modern greens. The bridesmaids look chic and elegant in their blush pink dresses with gold accents.

A simple sweetheart table adorned with local greens, luxurious gold tableware and a cozy bench resides on the relaxed poolside terrace. A gorgeous, custom water color designed paper suite by Scissortail Creative Co-op, added to the whimsical and lighthearted feel of the wedding day.

Once everyone was ready, the bridesmaids were delighted to send off their bride to her romantic new beginning in a classic black ride. A brand new feeling of excitement and fun await.

A huge thank you to this dream team of vendors:

Romantic Blush and Pastel Wedding Inspiration

2/15/2018

Taylor'd Southern Events had a vision for an elegant affair featuring blush pink, an assortment of beautiful greens and metallic accents. Lauren created a modern take on classic southern staples. In this inspirational shoot, a beautiful love story comes to life at a small town venue full of character and southern charm.

Arundel Estate is set amongst eleven beautiful acres in the heart of Central Florida. The stunning two-story southern estate is like no other hotel or venue location. Surrounded by endless manicured landscapes, oak canopies, and a fragrant lavender field the estate property is simply incredible.

Our models exemplify the modern day bride and groom with a bit of southern flare. The bride wears a romantic flowing gown, adorned with long, lace sleeves and an open back. The blooms are a lovely mix of pastel colors with a variety of unexpected textures. The color pallet, with hints of blush and pops of peach, accentuates the warmth of the South. Spring inspired pastels such as pale lavender, ivory hues and subtle greens provide a whimsical feel.

A small tablescape takes its cue from the grandeur of the venue with metallic candelabras, gold accents and delicate flower sprigs. Greens in the centerpiece are pulled from the surrounding landscapes.

Our real life couple share an uncompromising love for one another that make this story all the more endearing.  A polite, charming, romanticism between two people that will last forever.

I find film so dreamy. I'm encouraged in this learning journey as many of the images below were captured on film.

Getting ready for summertime...and that means Senior Portraits! I'm so thankful for the beautiful girls that are willing to model for me! Spring is always such an interesting time because we never know what we are going to get as far as weather and nature. It's usually pretty wet and there may or may not be any leaves on the trees. We were lucky to have a  gorgeous warm and sunny day among a stretch of extremely rainy days. Madilyn was a great sport in her dress as we wandered through the mud filled woods and hills! It was worth it!! This time I tried something a little different and experimented with both film and digital photos. Film is still like a big surprise because I'm still learning, but somehow it never disappoints!
